As I sat this afternoon at the Home and Garden Show I noticed how vendors interacted with the busy people passing by. Some people tending booths were eating their lunches, sandwiches in hand with the wrappers sprawled out in front of them. Others were reading magazines or looking out into the distance with boredom plastered on their faces waiting for interested customers to come their way. Not many smiled or even made eye contact until someone walked right in front of them. One vendor put a dollar bill out on the floor and when a customer went to picked it up he pulled it back as if he were catching a fish! What are we all doing here? What's wrong with a normal little smile or even to be so bold as to look out and say, Hi , how are you doing today and really mean it? If someone has a problem and you can't assist them, send them to someone who can, even if it is your competition. This is what will be remembered.
